Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Investigating the use of antimicrobial coatings in fresh produce quality and food safety chain (HN 17001).
The objectives of the research are to determine the safety and effectiveness of nanoparticle-based antimicrobial coatings on food contact surfaces in packhouses and reusable packing, shipping and storage materials against common foodborne and spoilage bacteria.
The project will explore new applications of nanoparticle antimicrobial technology to maximize the quality and safety of horticultural produce.
Likely adopters of this technology will be Australian horticulture growers, packers, processors and exporters involved in fresh produce post-harvest activities.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
The closing date for responses is 5.00pm (AEDT), Monday, 30 October, 2017.
