Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: An integrated pest management programme for the Australian almond industry (AL16009) to develop knowledge and practices that support best practice in integrated pest management (IPM) on-farm and postharvest.
The overarching objective of the programme is to develop and extend knowledge and practices that support best practice on-farm integrated pest management. Specifically, the services are to:
* Extend current knowledge on IPM of arthropod pests in almond orchards and along the supply chain, with an emphasis on Carob Moth, Carpophilus (in collaboration current project AL15004) and storage pests
* Identify and undertake strategic, adaptive and participatory research to support the further development of an IPM program for almonds, with a focus on Carob Moth, Carpophilus (in collaboration with project AL15004) and storage pests
* Work with other relevant projects, including the concurrent project being procured on integrated disease management (IDM) (AL16005) and the current project on Carpophilus (AL15004)
* Communicate and extend knowledge and practices in whole-farm and postharvest IPM for key arthropods on almonds that will maximse IPM adoption throughout the supply chain.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
