Asbestos Removal and Demolition of City of Fremantle Civic Building

⁠⁠⁠The City's proposed Kings Square development will provide a new Civic, Library / Community Hub, and Administration Building on the site of the existing Council Building in Fremantle.

The City of Fremantle is seeking responses from appropriately experienced Contractors to provide a fixed price quotation for the safe asbestos removal and subsequent partial demolition of the City of Fremantle's current Civic Centre, located at 8 William Street, Fremantle, in preparation for a new Civic Administration Building.

The existing heritage listed Town Hall building and a portion of the existing Civic Building basement, will both remain in place during the demolition contract and ultimately connect into the new building in the future. These existing retained structures are to be appropriately protected by the Contractor from damage, during the demolition and asbestos removal works.

The scope of this contract will also include diversion and protection of certain live services feeding the existing Town Hall and surrounding sites, particularly electrical. Tenderers are to fully familiarise themselves with the requirements in this regard.

In addition a number of existing trees are to be retained and protected during the works, as defined in the documentation.
