Essential Energy invites responses from suitably certified Distributors in relation to the Supply of Chemicals to aid the Treatment of Termites and other insects in hardwood poles.
Background
Essential Energy owns and maintains approximately 1.2 million timber power poles as part of its overhead electrical network which is spread across 95% of New South Wales.
The reliability and safety of the overhead network relies heavily on these structures withstanding a broad range of environmental conditions and are often compromised by Termite and other insect attack.
Part of the current and previous methodology for condition monitoring these structures employs the use of the Termidor products to treat the infestation of Termites and maintain the internal integrity of the hardwood poles. Essential Energy currently purchases approximately 1,247 litres of Termidor and associated items per annum which are delivered into 3 major depots across NSW.
