Gidgery Ck Causeway Restoration

MSC17-01 - The Nelia - Bunda Road, McKinlay Shire, QLD, is an essential public asset for the McKinlay Shire Council. The existing concrete floodway crossing of Gidgery Creek, along this asset, approximately 34 kilometres from the intersection of this asset and the Flinders Highway, suffered significant damage as a result of the Gulf of Carpentaria Monsoon Trough, 20 December 2015 - 3 January 2016.

Council has requested and secured funding under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) for this event. This funding allows for the restoration of the concrete floodway to the pre disaster condition and serviceability.

This project is for the removal of the existing structure and it’s replacement. This includes the installation of reinforced concrete box culverts (RCBC’s), concrete pavement and concrete margins as well as associated earthworks and pavement approaches.
