Coffey International Development is the Managing Contractor for the Kiribati Education Improvement Program (KEIP), under Contract to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The KEIP works closely with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and is supporting the Government of Kiribati (GoK) to address goals set out in the Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP) 2012 -2015. A number of primary schools are being progressively upgraded, to provide a better learning environment and meet the National Infrastructure Standards (NIS) and some other Ministry of Education buildings will also be renovated.
KEIP is now seeking Tender submissions from suitably qualified organisations experienced in structural engineering services, developing and reviewing architectural design and construction drawings, building tender assessment and construction support. This includes the building quality assurance that is associated with the upgrading of Kiribati Ministry of Education school buildings.
A range of structural engineering and architectural support services are required through a Period Contract (from September 2017 to December 2019). The services will include on demand provision of a Facilities Improvement Adviser, a Project Architect, a Structural Engineer and an Architect/Building Adviser as required. The scope of services for each activity will be agreed and pre-approved. The successful Supplier will be required to regularly consult with the Infrastructure team in Kiribati, and be available to provide in-country inputs and support when required.
