Tenders are invited for the provision of Waste Classification and Soil Assessment at as and when required for a 3 year period with 2x1 year extension options.

Hunter Water has buried assets valued at over $3 Billion. Ongoing maintenance of these assets is required to keep them in service and spoil is generated as a result of maintenance work. The spoil is a mixture of soil, waste and recyclable materials such as concrete, steel, plastic, tar and wood.

Over the last few years a waste classification program has been in place for the spoil at most depots. Spoil management is on a pathway of improvement to comply with NSW EPA and OEH requirements, to reduce the amount of spoil disposed to landfill, to increase the proportion of recyclable material and provide opportunities for reuse of clean soil materials.

This contract represents a continuation of the waste classification program at the main depots.
