Healthdirect Australia operates the healthdirect service as part of a multichannel offering that provides access to health advice and information; it consists of a 24/7 helpline, website and app, Symptom Checker and service finder (linked with the National Health Service Directory). The healthdirect helpline allows consumers to speak to a registered nurse for information and advice on managing their symptoms, what to do next and when to seek further assistance from a local health service provider. The healthdirect website and healthdirect mobile app provide consumers with a range of trusted health information. They can also help them identify and manage their symptoms using the healthdirect Symptom Checker and find their nearest health services utilising the service finder. The healthdirect service is provided on behalf of the governments of the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and the Commonwealth.

(a) a 24-hour registered nurse triage, information and advice service, handling calls from residents located in the ACT, NSW, NT, SA, TAS and WA; and
(b) additional health information and advice services handling calls from residents from certain jurisdictions within Australia
The objectives of this EOI are to:
(a) assess the interest and capability of prospective service providers to deliver and enhance the healthdirect service;
(b) assess and develop subsequent RFT requirements for the healthdirect service; and
(c) identify respondents to be shortlisted for participation in a select RFT process for the Service.
