The Council of the City of Sydney ("the City") invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) for entry into the 2017 Sydney New Year's Eve Harbour of Light Parade® in accordance with this request.

The Harbour of Light Parade is part of the official program of events for the annual Sydney New Year's Eve event. Vessels decorated in rope light entertain and delight spectators gathered on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour between the 9pm Family and Midnight Fireworks Displays.

Entry into the 2017 Harbour of Light Parade ("2017 Parade") is via a competitive process which is open to all commercial vessels, and vessels operated by not-for-profit organisations. There are up to sixty (60) positions available in the 2017 Parade.

The successful and safe operation of the 2017 Parade is of utmost importance. The evaluation of bids will focus on identifying organisations and vessels that meet the operational requirements to participate safely, and vessels that will be decorated to a high standard.

Successful respondents will be invited to participate in the 2017 Parade on 31 December 2017, sailing within the Event Exclusion Zone on Sydney Harbour. Vessels in the 2017 Parade will need to be in a designated position by 8:30pm and participate in the event until approximately 12:45am on 1 January 2018.

The City reserves the right to accept an EOI submission in whole or in part (at the City's sole discretion). The City also reserves the right to invite vessel operators to participate in the 2017 Parade in addition to those that identified via this EOI process (at the City's sole discretion).
