Tender Description
Supply and installation of new solar lighting to achieve AS1158 requirements for “P2” (Lighting for pathways including cycle ways) on the Meadowbank (John Whitton) Bridge and the approaches to/from the bridge at Rhodes and Meadowbank respectively in accordance with the plans and specifications.
The installation shall include design and fabrication of mounting brackets to attach the light(s) units, batteries and solar panels to the cross girders on the bridge and the supply of footings and appropriate poles (e.g. of the drop down type to enable easy servicing of the units) on the approaches. Footings for the light poles are required to be designed. The contractor shall liaise with a structural engineer and confirm the suitability of the proposed units in terms of the capacity of the girders to support the units.
The solar units shall be capable of meeting performance standards from dawn to dusk and the batteries shall have sufficient capacity/resilience to enable the system the units to operate satisfactorily during periods of extended cloudy (low light) conditions.
