Hort Innovation is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the project Gamma irradiation as a measure for market access to New Zealand (PF16001).
The objective of the services being sought are to help Hort Innovation and the passionfruit industry to:
* Develop and lodge successfully an application to Food Safety Australia and New Zealand to amend the Food Safety Code to allow irradiation treatment of passionfruit for phytosanitary trade.
The intended primary outcomes are:
* The long-term profitability of the Australian passionfruit industry will rely on supplying quality fruit into existing domestic and export markets and accessing new overseas markets. Increasing quantities of fruit and restrictions to market access necessitate finding new ways to access these markets.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
