Aerial Application of Mosquito Control Product

⁠⁠⁠Sunshine Coast Council carries out an extensive, scientifically based, mosquito management program, using a combination of aerial and ground based treatments. These treatments require the application of specific products, which target mosquito larvae in their breeding habitats as well as adult mosquitoes.

The program operates year round; however mosquito activity and subsequent treatments are generally from August through to May. The majority of treatments target salt marshes using aerial application. Frequency and size of these treatments are dependent on high tides and rainfall events.

Tenders are invited for the aerial application of liquid or solid mosquito control products capable of controlling mosquito larvae at various treatment locations and over specific treatment areas as directed from time to time by Council; and to provide aerial services for surveys.

The treatment areas have been identified in two distinct zones. Council will award both of these zones to one supplier, the treatment product will be supplied by Council.
