The NW Queensland Strategic Water Storage Project is a feasibility study into additional water storage and delivery infrastructure in the Cloncurry River catchment.
The project is administered by the Mount Isa Townsville Economic Zone Inc (MITEZ), conducted under the auspices of the Queensland Department of Energy and Water Supply (DEWS) and funded by the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund (NWIDF).
This feasibility study explores the best location for an additional water solution within the Cloncurry-- Mount Isa region of North West Queensland and establishes key geotechnical parameters and concept specifications of the proposed infrastructure.
The study then provides a detailed analysis of the benefits and costs of the project, across financial, social, economic and environmental dimensions, and explores the regulatory context and constraints.
