The SunCoast project is a 132kV power upgrade that was approved in April 2011 following a Community Infrastructure Designation (CID) approval to construct a double circuit overhead powerline from Palmwoods to Pacific Paradise. SunCoast project’s scope has since been optimised to meet immediate electricity requirements and consequently Energex will not be proceeding with the Pacific Paradise leg of the initially proposed upgrade and will reassess its requirement in the future.

The SunCoast project will support planned Sunshine Coast infrastructure investment and subsequent jobs they will create such as SunCentral, expanded airport, University Hospital, Bli Bli precinct and major residential developments such as Aura (Caloundra South) and Harmony (at Palmview).

Energex is seeking expressions of interest to successfully deliver the civil works component of the Suncoast Project. This component will be conducted in two stages:
* Stage 1: Expression of Interest Tenderers; and
* Stage 2: Civil Works Tender - For shortlisted Tenderers (in Stage 1) only.

The aim of this Expression of Interest (EOI) for Stage 1 - Civil Works (SunCoast), is to identify and shortlist potential Tenderers who are capable of meeting the requirements specified in the Scope of Works for the construction of access tracks and pole foundations (civil works) for the SunCoast Power Project.
