Water Quality Monitoring

⁠⁠⁠Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified consultant to undertake scheduled water sampling at 13 selected sites within the Campbelltown LGA. The consultant will also be responsible for arranging the samples to be couriered to Council's preferred NATA accredited laboratory for analysis of enterococci, faecal coliforms, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and chlorophyll-a.

Council's current Water Quality Monitoring Program (WQMP) was initiated in 2005 and includes the sampling and monitoring of 13 strategically selected sites within the Georges River and the Nepean River Catchments. The results of which are analysed against National guidelines for Fresh and Marine Water Quality developed by the Australian and New Zealand Environment and Conservation Council (ANZECC 2000).

Additionally three sites are analysed against the National Health and Medical Research Council's Guidelines for Managing Risks in Recreational Water (NHMRC Guidelines).
