RFT-TR-RF0159 Request for Tender Rhyndaston Tunnel Chimney Rehabilitaion

Closing date: 3pm 21 April 2017.

TasRail Is currently seeking the services of a suitably qualified, experienced and competent Contractor to tender a price for the rehabilitation of air ventilation chimneys at the Rhyndaston Rail Tunnel in Southern Tasmania. Works Include controlled excavation and replacement of the existing brick stacks with concrete pipes, In accordance with the design specifications and Scope of Works provided in the Tender documents.

Key Points of Tender:
* AS4000 Construction Contract
* No disruption to existing train operations by the works
* In-tunnel protection of rail from fang debris and installation of ceiling grates required
* Attendance at a compulsory site inspection on Tuesday 4 April 2107
* Compliance with all standards and co-operation with local government
* Assessment of opportunities and Impacts on Tasmanian industry (Buy Local Policy)
* Mature Health, Safety and Environment compliance processes and systems essential
* Construction Industry White Card and Track Safety Awareness required for all persons attending site. Including the site visit
* Compliance with the Building Code 2014 and Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999 and subsidiary Regulation
* Contract award in May with initial works commenting late May 2017
* Components of the works awarded from this Tender may be classed as rail safety work as prescribed by Rail Safely National Law (Tasmania) 2072 and as such employees and/or contractors performing such works must be able to meet and maintain the medical criteria for a safety critical worker health assessment (category 1, 2 or 3) as prescribed by the National Standard for Health Assessment of Rail Safety Workers.
