Request for Expression of Interest - Expansion of Bowen Airport - Lot 237 on HR1027

⁠⁠⁠500.2017.0022 - The Land is currently included in the ‘Community Facilities’ zone under the planning scheme. It is strategically positioned within Bowen to enable economic development opportunities within the local and regional area.

Council wishes to lease the Land to achieve the following objectives (Project Objectives):
(i) To achieve a sustainable increase in the number of full-time equivalent employment positions in the Bowen region as a consequence of development on the Land (a minimum of 25 full equivalent employment positions is preferred);
(ii) Expand and diversify the aeronautical operations within the Bowen Airport.
(iii) Support the expansion and diversification of existing and future industries within Bowen and surrounds by capitalising on the Airports location alongside the Bruce Highway.
