Energex is required to purchase approximately 58-88 steel poles for the SunCoast Power Project. The project will involve the construction of a new sub-transmission powerline from the Powerlink substation at Palmwoods to the West Maroochydore substation on Jones Road.

It is expected to directly benefit more than 100,000 homes and businesses and indirectly boost supply to a further 175,000 electricity customers.

The total number of steel poles required is dependent on the number of concrete poles that will be required on the project and will be determined as the design elements progress and are confirmed.
