Horticulture Innovation Australia Limited (Hort Innovation) is seeking proposals from suitability qualified and experienced organisations to provide research and development services and associated co-investment for the following project.
The proposed research work will provide better understanding on the potential use of stingless bees as alternate crop pollinators in Australian horticulture.
The project, Stingless bees as effective managed pollinators for Australian horticulture (PH16000), sits within the theme of “Identify alternate crop pollinators” under the Pollination Strategic Co-Investment (Pool 2) fund.
The key objectives of this program are to:
* Identify Australian stingless bee species to improve pollination services for the Australian horticulture
* Identify knowledge gaps in the basic biology and efficient propagation and management of stingless bees in a range of horticulture crops and cropping / climatic conditions.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
