Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable service provider to develop a guide on the impact of pesticides on beneficial arthropods that are of importance to Australian vegetable production.
The overarching objective of the project is for growers and advisors to be well informed about the impact of pesticides on key beneficial arthropods relevant to Australian vegetable production. To do this, a management guide on the impact of pesticides on beneficials by crop type will be developed by:
* Identifying what pesticides are approved and used for vegetable crops in Australia
* Reviewing existing data on what disruptive effects the pesticides have on key beneficials relevant to the vegetable industry
* Filling knowledge gaps by undertaking scientifically robust trials on the impact of pesticides on the beneficials
* Synthesising information into a user-friendly guide for growers and advisors
* Delivering updates and the guide to growers and their advisors.
The intended outcome the project is that vegetable growers and advisors are better informed on the impacts of different pesticides on beneficial arthropods of importance and that it can be used as part of an IPM strategy.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
