Tender Description
Tenders are invited for the Maintenance of Gravel Access Roads within Hunter Water Corporation land at as and when required for a 3 year period with 2x1 year extension options
There are over 110 kilometres of unsealed roads within the Corporation's lands of Tomago, Anna Bay, Grahamstown and Balickera which provide access to various assets such as Treatment Works, Sandbeds & Pump Stations and Bore lines that require regular maintenance and repairs.
The roads shall be maintained by the Contractor and shall include but is not limited to:
Grading
The gravel surface shall be shaped with a blade grader to a slight grade to allow free surface drainage and to avoid ponding on the surface. This usually involves the re-distribution of existing displaced materials.
Consolidation
The gravel shall be consolidated by rolling. The gravel shall be rolled until it is compacted to a firm even and smooth surface.
Surface Drainage
Effective surface drainage, ie., transverse and longitudinal drainage shall be maintained to control run-off, preventing it from reaching erosive velocities.
Repairs to Road
Carry out repairs to the damaged road surfaces due to washouts etc. This usually involves the importation, spreading, grading and consolidation of new material.
Installation of Concrete Causeways and Pipe Culverts
Concrete Causeways
Installation of concrete causeway of nominated dimensions.
Pipe Culverts
Installation of pipe culvert of nominated dimensions.
