Tender RFQ 2016/109.
Water Quality Device Analysis, Stage 2
Northern Beaches Council Central (formerly the Warringah LGA) has a database that includes 137 stormwater quality treatment devices or stormwater quality maintenance locations. These treatment devices include:
* Bioretention systems or rain gardens, designed to trap and filter fine particulates and nutrients;
* Sediment basins;
* Non-proprietary and proprietary gross pollutant traps designed to capture litter and sediments;
* Wetlands designed to retain and settle fine particulates and facilitate the uptake of nutrients in stormwater; and
* Stormwater outlets and pits potentially requiring periodic sediment removal.
This Project is Stage 2 of a Water Quality Device Improvement Project initiated in 2015/16 with the completion of Stage 1, the Water Quality Device Audit. Key tasks completed as part of stage 1 included:
1. WQD Asset Management Review; Including the asset register, maintenance schedules and work history;
2. WQD Field Assessments; Investigation of device location, size, condition, maintenance requirements, inlet and outlet configuration, conceptual treatment behaviour, operational evidence and inspection/auditing tool requirements.
3. WQD Performance Monitoring; Collection of new or updated information on the operation, maintenance and performance of Council's WQD infrastructure.
Stage 2 Water Quality Device Analysis (this RFQ), will use the findings of Stage 1 to move from knowing what assets we have to defining what assets we want.
