Tender Description
The Public Health and Chronic Disease Grant Program provides a flexible funding pool to fund projects aimed at reducing the incidence of chronic disease, to support the early detection and prevention of cancer through screening, and to provide funding for chronic disease management, support and palliative care services. The National Palliative Care Projects form part of this program.
The Australian Government is seeking applications from eligible entities for grant funding activities to support activities under the National Palliative Care Projects (NPCP). The aim of the NPCP are to develop and deliver national palliative care projects that encompass one or more of the following:
* Education and training;
* Quality improvement;
* Advance care planning;
* Palliative care data and planning;
* Information exchange;
* Community awareness;
* Research;
* Best practice service delivery; and
* Advocacy
Total funding of up to $45.4million (GST exclusive) is available over the period July 2017 to June 2020. Funding will generally be provided over multiple years to accommodate more enduring projects.
Legislative Authority
The legislative authority for palliative care grant funding is provided by item 183 in Part 4 of Schedule 1AB of the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Regulations 1997.
The Item was registered on 14 November 2016 and is subject to a disallowance period that expires on 20 March 2017. In the event that the legislative authority is disallowed, no funding agreements can be offered.
