Tender Description
Council has combined two capital works projects into one package of works in an attempt to reduce set up costs and enable fill cut material to be balanced between the two projects. The two projects are on adjacent roads are
1.TS2370 Esplanade realignment Margate. Along with the road realignment and construction of a shared footpath and retaining wall. To future proof access to the Dru point recreational area council has acquired land from the adjacent properties and requires the current road to be realigned further inland and at a higher elevation than the current road. The new road to be constructed is 420m long and includes a new shared footpath along the full length. A 155m long retaining vertiblock retaining wall is required to be installed (Blocks supplied by Council). This package of works also includes the supply and placement of large boulders, landscaping, fencing and relocation of an existing shed. Trenching will also be required to underground a short section of overhead LV power cables.
2. TS2600 Beach road Margate between Bundalla road and Esplanade road upgrade. The works include the construction of a new footpath, stormwater upgrade, landscaping and the reconstruction of 320m of road.
