The National Support for Child and Youth Mental Health Program aims to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people, commencing with the early years and going through to adolescence. The National Workforce Support in Child Mental Health Grant Opportunity forms part of this program.
The Australian Government is seeking applications for grant funding to identify and address the workforce needs across the full spectrum of existing clinical and non-clinical support services that work with children at risk of mental health difficulties in Australia. Total funding of up to $18.7 million (GST exclusive) over the period April 2017 to June 2019 is available for this grant.
Legislative Authority
The legislative authority for grants under this Program is provided by Item 192 in Part 4 of Schedule 1AB of the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Regulations 1997.
The Item was registered on 13 December 2016 and is subject to a disallowance period that expires 15 sitting days after the Item is tabled. In the event that the legislative authority is disallowed, no funding agreements can be offered.
