Tender Description

10003 - Ipswich City Council (ICC) is committed to the provision of a range of quality recreational and play opportunities for the residents of Ipswich.

As part of this commitment, Council wishes to enhance Sapling Pocket by improving the flood resilience. This will allow for future embellishment of the reserve while reducing the flood damage risk. Sapling Pocket is an inset floodplain located on the Brisbane River. The floodplain has undergone extensive changes since the 1970’s with vegetation clearing, sand and gravel extraction.

The area suffered significant erosion during the 2011 and 2013 floods. Following decommissioning of the extraction activities the inset floodplain was reshaped with the extraction pit filled in and a drainage style channel formed at the downstream extent of the site.

The scope of work to be carried out under this contract comprises the provision of all materials, labour, plant and the performance of every operation necessary for the works.

The site is currently locked to the public with no access permitted. Council will be allowing Tenderers site visits at the following times:
(a) 10am to 12pm Wednesday 14 December 2016
(b) 10am to 12pm Tuesday 20 December 2016
(c) 10am to 12pm Tuesday 10 January 2017
