2017 Western Australian School Student Alcohol and Drug Survey

⁠⁠⁠The Mental Health Commission (MHC) is seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced Respondent to undertake the Western Australian (WA) component of the 2017 Australian School Student Alcohol and Drug (ASSAD) Survey.

The ASSAD Survey has been conducted every three years since 1984 and provides regular and comparable information on alcohol, tobacco and other drug use in students enrolled in Years 7 to 12 in government, Catholic and independent schools. This information is vital for the planning, implementation and evaluation of policy, strategy and health promotion programs in WA.

The Respondent will be required to ensure there is an adequate number of schools and students sampled. Sampling requires gaining consent at the school level from school Principals, parent/carer consent of their child to participate in the survey, and student consent. Surveys will be administered following standardised administration protocols.
