Node Leader, Biodiversity information management: 2 year appointment The Western Australian Biodiversity Science Institute
The Board of The Western Australian Biodiversity Science Institute (WABSI) is seeking an individual or a company to provide leadership in information system and oversee the development of a foundational research program.
The Biodiversity Information Management Node Leader will work with stakeholders that generate, hold and use biodiversity data in Western Australia, to help build a collaborative environment to optimize the biodiversity information management lifecycle.
You will work closely with researchers, government and industry to ensure that data is collected once, made accessible, and is enable for multiple applications. This process includes negotiating a data sharing agreement and identifying existing information management platforms that support WABSI’s outcomes; identifying capacity gapes and areas for strategic system development or enhancement.
You will undertake leadership, collaboration and administration, have experience in developing networks with industry, researchers and other end users, negotiating contracts and have a demonstrated track record of achievement in information management.
Essential criteria:
* An effective communicator with proven ability to develop and manage relationships with industry, researchers and end-users.
* Experience in facilitating cross-organizational cooperation across multi-disciplinary projects.
* Experience in negotiating contracts and bringing parties together
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills: high level consultation and negotiation skills.
* Substantial experience in data and data centre infrastructure set up and operation.
* Substantial experience in developing and reviewing technical documentation.
* Working knowledge of protect management methodologies.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of current network technology and best practices.
* Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
