Refurbishment of Shutters - Ben Anderson Barrage

⁠⁠⁠SunWater is seeking Proposals for the Refurbishment of Shutters at Ben Anderson Barrage.

Ben Anderson Barrage, located on the Burnett River about ten kilometres upstream of Bundaberg, was constructed in the mid 1970s. The barrage fixed crest elevation is at an elevation of 2.13 metres. One hundred and ten collapsible steel shutters, each 2.4 metres wide, have been installed on the fixed crest. These shutters allow the storage to be raised 1.83 metres to an EL of 3.96 metres. During flood flows, the shutters collapse when they are overtopped by a small predetermined increment.

There is an ongoing maintenance program where shutters are refurbished on an annual basis.

This Specification describes the requirements for the shutters to be inspected, external blast cleaned and repainted, and where necessary replacement parts are to be fitted.
