Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠ACT Healthy Waterways (Basin Project) – Phase Two Delivery is a joint initiative of the Commonwealth and Australian Capital Territory governments to improve long-term water quality in the ACT and the Murrumbidgee River system as part of the Phase 2 of the Basins Priority Project.

50 individual water quality treatment packages have been identified consisting of rain gardens, wetlands, ponds, creek restoration, swales, gross pollutant traps and stormwater irrigation. The project account for 74 per cent of total run-off and 54 per cent of total pollutant load in ACT waterways which are located in six catchments:
i. Fyshwick;
ii. Lake Tuggeranong;
iii. Lower Molonglo;
iv. Upper Molonglo;
v. West Belconnen; and
vi. Yarralumla Creek.

The AHW delivery scope comprises up to 35 priority elements and 1 research elements in the six catchment areas. There are 14 reserve elements for potential substitution and/or addition to delivery scope.

In November/December 2016, the Territory will be releasing a Request for Tender for the engagement a Managing Contractor (MC) for the delivery of the ACT Healthy Waterways Project.

The MC will programme and manage the packages of work across 20 - 25 sites from final detailed design including total project programming, cost control and construction for completion by the end of March 2019.

Twenty Four Priority projects, One 1 research and Twenty Four Reserve sites have been nominated in the scope of works across the ACT and Queanbeyan NSW.
