Tender Description
The Queensland Government’s Biofutures Acceleration Program seeks to facilitate the development of one or more new or expanded commercial scale biorefineries within Queensland through a Competitive Selection Process. This Invitation for Expression of Interest is the first stage in the State’s Competitive Selection Process and aims to attract project proposals from Proponents with the necessary capability, capacity and experience to commence construction of a commercial scale biorefinery within five years.
The State is seeking a biorefinery that produces:
* Biofuel (e.g. sustainable aviation fuel, ethanol or biodiesel); and/or
* Other high value products (e.g. biochemicals and bioplastics).
The support which may be offered by the State to selected Proponents includes:
* Project facilitation services, including development and planning approvals
* Assistance with locating and securing suitable sites
* Provision of enabling infrastructure and services
* Partnering with other government jurisdictions to leverage support
* Funding assistance.
The closing date for questions, requests for clarification and further information in relation to the Invitation for Expression of Interest is 5:00pm AEST on 4 January 2017, unless otherwise notified by the State.
