Tender Description
Tenders are invited for a consultant to prepare a preliminary design and a subsequent detailed design of the infrastructure associated with the new runway as part of the Sunshine Coast Airport Expansion Project.
The scope of works requiring design services includes, but is not limited to:
* Construction of significant drainage channels to convey flood waters around the runway construction to provide a flooding outcome that is no worse than the current situation;
* Closure and removal of the existing secondary runway (RWY 12/30);
* Dredging of approximately 1.1 million m3 of sand-fill from the Spitfire Realignment Channel east of the southern end of Bribie island;
* Transport and mooring of the dredge adjacent to Marcoola beach for sand pumping to the site;
* Temporary construction operations including the dredge pipeline, bunded sand placement and ASS treatment areas and a de-silting pond; and
* Construction of the new 2,450m runway (RWY 13/31) including end taxiway loops, apron extensions and other associated infrastructure.
