Tender Description

The NSW Department of Industry is seeking contractors to provide Computer Aided Drawing and Design (CADD) Services on both a regular and ad-hoc basis to the Tweed River Entrance Sand Bypassing Project (TRESBP) for the period from 1/7/2017 to 31/12/2022.

The TRESBP is a joint scheme of the NSW and Queensland Governments which was set up to establish and maintain a navigable entrance depth of at least 3.5m below ISLW to the Tweed River and restore and maintain coastal sand supply to the southern Gold Coast beaches. The project is being coordinated by the NSW Department of Trade and Investment, Crown Lands on behalf of the two states.

As part of TRESBP environmental monitoring obligation, the project undertakes several hydrographic and land surveys of the project area.

The surveys comprise of:
1) River Survey every two years, approx. 12 km long and 30,000 to 50,000 data points
2) Project monitoring surveys undertaken every three months of the coastal and entrance areas, approximately 10km long and 8,000 data points.
3) Control Volume Surveys.
4) Pre and Post dredging campaign surveys.
5) Coastal yearly survey approximately 12Km length of coast and 30,000 to 40,000 data points.

Presently the project uses Bentley Microstation SE or V8i and InRoads/Insite to analyse and reduce the survey data in the designated areas.

The TRESBP will supply all survey data containing Eastings, Northing and RL in ASCII format. Example plans in Microstation, pdf file format and the design Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) used. Including any other data or work samples agreed to be supplied at the inception meeting.
