Tender Description

The Adelaide to Tarcoola Re-Railing Program involves the upgrade of approximately 600 kilometres of track on the Adelaide (Islington and Outer Harbour) to Tarcoola line. The upgrade will improve capacity by increasing rail size along the interstate line, moving rail size from predominantly 47 kg per metre section to 60kg per metre. The project will also include periphery works to allow for the higher axle loads (25 tonnes at 80km/h) and other associated upgrades (i.e. turnout and level crossing renewals, etc). The upgrade will build upon the existing 100 kilometre track enhancements that have already been completed along the project line.

In order to achieve the program goal, ARTC require various works to be undertaken between Crystal Brook and Tarcoola in South Australia. Works required are identified in the Separable Portion work packages below and shall be completed prior to the 31st December 2016.

The work packages comprise of preliminary activities to be completed prior to rail delivery and the commencement of the major re-railing works for the Adelaide to Tarcoola Re-Railing Program and are outlined below:

All works shall be planned to occur in accordance with scheduled train movements and As Traffic Permits (ATP).

* are registered in the Onsite Track Easy system; and
* have their assigned ARTC Role active in the Onsite Track Easy system.
