Tender Description
Primary Care Gold Coast (trading as Gold Coast Primary Health Network - GCPHN) is seeking responses to a Request for Proposal from eligible organisations for the provision of evidence based treatment services for alcohol and other drugs including methamphetamines, commencing 1st January 2017, for a period up to 30th June 2019.
The focus of the funding is to ensure that those who are most in need will have timely access to services that are most appropriate for them and are cost effective. This will include:
Early Treatment Support
The impact of investing in a community based early treatment service response will improve an individual's awareness of their substance use with the aim of reducing or changing their behaviour before it becomes problematic. Early interventions can be delivered across a range of health care and community based settings in recognition that many people can benefit from being given the appropriate information at the right time.
Post Treatment Support
Effective post treatment support such as follow up and relapse prevention has shown to prolong the recovery period following treatment. It is a necessary component within the Alcohol and Other Drugs treatment system to support the continuation and effectiveness of the work completed through more intensive treatment interventions.
