Tender Details
Tender Description
The Comprehensive Cultural Assessment Plan for the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area (TWWHA) project will undertake planning and wide community consultation to prepare a detailed proposal for a comprehensive multi-year cultural survey of the TWWHA.
This will enable the Tasmanian and Australian Governments to submit a detailed plan for a comprehensive cultural survey to the World Heritage Centre for review by ICOMOS (the International Council on Monuments and Sites), in consultation with IUCN (the International Union for Conservation of Nature) by mid-2017.
This project is being led by the Tasmanian Aboriginal Heritage Council (AHC).
The Comprehensive Cultural Assessment Plan for the TWWHA project will consist of:
1. Developing a detailed multi-year and fully costed plan for Aboriginal cultural surveys of sites (i.e. archaeological) and landscapes within the TWWHA;
2. Development of a consultation methodology that will ascertain intangible cultural connections, stories, and other relationships with the relevant landscapes, skyscapes and seascapes that are not necessarily evinced by archaeological evidence;
3. Community consultation on the survey plan and consultation methodology;
4. Completion of a detailed multi-year, costed proposal for a comprehensive cultural survey of the TWWHA for consideration by the AHC prior to submission to the World Heritage Centre.
