Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Tenders are invited for the upgrade of the footpath on the western side of Stewart Terrace, Naracoorte.

The footpath runs from the Creek Walk (so the south) to the Naracoorte High School at its northern end. 

STEWART TERRACE FOOTPATH, NARACOORTE: SCOPE OF WORKS

1. The Contractor’s scope of works includes but is not limited to, the provision of supervision,
labour, materials, transport, plant and equipment necessary to complete the planning, set out,
removal, supply, installation, certification and maintenance of the civil, asphalt, concrete works,
excavation, reinstatement, line marking and storm water works as indicated in the contract
documents. 

2. The Contractor is to allow to liaise, cooperate and coordinate activities with the Council
Representative, the Council and service authorities. 

3. Allow for all notification and liaison with residents adjoining the site. 

4. The Contractor is to allow for all survey and set out of the works for the duration of the works
from established benchmarks. 

5. The Contractor is to allow for the provision of all traffic control measures and management.

6. Allow for reinstatement of all pavements, verges, footpaths, kerbs, structures and other areas
affected by the works.

7. Allow for the construction of drains, kerbs and other concrete works. 

8. Allow for soil erosion and drainage management during construction. .

9. Allow for clean-up and demobilisation as required. 

10. Where there is a discrepancy in the standards, the higher standard is deemed to be allowed for. 

11. The Contractor is required to allow for all drainage during the works, including existing,
temporary and final systems. 

12. The Contractor is to allow to reinstate all existing surfaces, as documented or to match existing.
Reinstatement works are to comply with all relevant standards.

13. The Contractor is to make provision to undertake works in accordance with relevant standards,
codes, Building Code of Australia, manufacturer’s recommendations, contract conditions,
contract programme, contract documents and statutory authority requirements. 

14. Allow to survey for existing services prior to any works beginning.

15. Allow for permanent dust control on all stages of the project, either by water cart or permanent
water, allow for all costs associated with the supply of dust control systems.

16. Allow for any necessary hand digging or extra over allowance required for excavating in close
proximity to footings, adjacent structures, services, significant trees and the like.

17. Allow for washing down of all vehicles prior to leaving the work area to ensure no dirt, mud or
other material is left on footpaths, roads, car parks etc. Clean down roads, footpaths, car parks
as required to the satisfaction of Council and EPA requirements.

18. The Contractor is deemed to have inspected the site and no claims will be entertained due to
lack of information that could have been determined by visiting the site. 

19. Allow to remove all excavated material not able to be reused off site. There is to be no
stockpiling of materials onsite. All associated charges are deemed to be included within the
Contract sum.

20. Allow for compacting rubble in layers as specified and as required. Allow for conducting
compaction tests for the extent as specified and required. Should results indicate insufficient
compaction then additional compaction and testing shall be carried out by the Contractor at their
expense until the required results are achieved.

21. Allow to adjust all existing services covers to suit final design levels.

22. Contractor to allow for 40mpa reinforced concrete driveways in lieu of block pavers.

23. Contractor to allow for AC7 asphalt footpath in lieu of AC10.

24. Kerb ramps to be in accordance with Australian Standards.

25. Contactor to allow for the installation of the retaining wall to manufacturer’s recommendations
including the supply and installation of drainage pipework.

26. Contractor to allow to over excavate and provide 100mm loam to earthwork section between
chainage 10 to 80.
