Expression of Interest (EOI) from building contractors interested in being invited to submit a tender for the construction of a Staff Housing and Amenity complex adjacent and to service Juniper’s existing aged care facility in Sutherland Street , Derby, Western Australia.

Juniper is a large retirement village and age care service provider with a mission to enhance the independence, spiritual fulfilment and enjoyment of life of older people through care, accommodation and support services.

Juniper has engaged Greg Eastman Designs to design and document a Staff housing enclave comprising 6 x one bedroom, 8 x two bedroom and 1 x three bedroom units, plus a central amenity area. It is located on the same site and adjacent to the Juniper existing aged care Numbula Nunga Hostel buildings. The buildings are predominantly single storey steel framed residential Class 2 construction.

Some existing buildings will be demolished in order to make way for this development.

Full working drawings have been completed. If the project proceeds to the stage of calling construction tenders then Juniper will invite a small number of builders from the EOI to submit a construction tender based on the full working drawings.

Juniper would prefer to commence the project at the earliest time, however, depending on the final Business Case outcome, Juniper reserve the right to withdraw from the project completely or to either proceed with it in a reduced or staged form. Environmental conditions may also impede construction and it may be necessary to delay the commencement due to the seasonal rainfall conditions in the North West. Notwithstanding these conditions, Juniper would prefer to be in a position to confirm the project by November 2016, with a commencement as soon as the weather and site conditions allow.
