Waihi & Paeroa WTPS UV/Peroxide Design Build
Tender ID: 281905
Tender Details
Tender Description
Hauraki District Council has recently upgraded the Paeroa and Waihi Water Treatment Plants to comply with the Drinking Water Standards of New Zealand 2005 (revised 2008). The Paeroa and Waihi WTPs are direct membrane filtration treatment plants with a design capacity of 6,000 m3/day and 4,000 m3/day respectively.
Both plants currently have taste and odour problems in the treated water. The plants were not designed for taste and odour removal and therefore need to be upgraded with an additional barrier.
HDC intend to resolve the taste and odour issues by installing a new package UV/peroxide advanced oxidation plant post membrane filtration to provide 1.2 log reduction of 2-MIB. Chlorine dosing will be used to quench the residual peroxide post advanced oxidation. Allowance was made in the design of the recent upgrade for the future installation of a UV/Peroxide plant at both sites.
This Contract is a design build contract. The scope of this Contract includes the design, equipment selection, procurement, delivery, construction, installation and commissioning of a package UV/Peroxide plant with chlorine quenching at both sites.
