Design, manufacture and supply track geometry monitoring equipment

⁠⁠⁠TasRail is currently seeking the services of a suitably qualified, experienced and competent Contractor to tender prices for the design, manufacture and supply of a wagon mounted (supplied by TasRail), containerised track geometry and rail wear condition monitoring system capable of identifying deviation from standard tolerances and including an integrated power supply system.

Key Points of Tender:

• Knowledge, experience and understanding of rail standards and specifications relating to track geometry and rail wear;
• Proven experience in the provision of similar equipment;
• Quality management systems that provide documented engineering support required for rail accreditation of the equipment and demonstration of compliance with all relevant industry codes and regulations;
• Robust design and manufacture systems with supporting Inspection and Test Plans (lTPs) for FAT, SAT and also for ongoing calibration maintenance;
• Sustainability including origin of supply, local after sales support, support of Tasmanian industry, impact on Tasmanian industry (Buy Local Policy);
• Mature Health, Safety and Environment compliance processes and systems for manufacture and supporting OH&S risk assessment systems for design are essential;
• Adherence to Australian Government Environment and heritage legislation;
• Compliance with the Building Code 2013 principles and requirements related to Australian Government access; and
• Anticipated contract award 2nd September 2016 with SAT in March 2016.
