Tender Description

Chevron Australia (“Company”) is seeking expressions of interest from service providers able to provide light well intervention vessel services for Company operated subsea wells located in the Carnarvon Basin, North West Australia. Any scope associated with this contract will be on a call off basis.

The Company operates the Greater Gorgon Field comprising eight subsea wells at Gorgon in approximately 220m of water and ten subsea wells at Jansz-Io located in approximately 1350m of water. These eighteen wells are tied back via flowlines, manifolds and pipelines to Barrow Island. In addition the Company operates the Wheatstone and Iago fields comprising seven subsea wells at Wheatstone in approximately 250m of water and two subsea wells at Iago in approximately 120m of water. These nine wells are tied back via flowlines, manifolds and pipelines to the Wheatstone Platform. All the wells are gas producers

Light well intervention work is not currently scheduled for any of these wells. The Company may require light well intervention vessel services to improve the production capability of a well or to address an unplanned well integrity event. Example interventions could include the following:
1. Re-perforating a well.
2. Setting a deep set plug in a well to temporarily suspend a well.
3. Setting plugs to allow the retrieval of a subsea tree for repair, retrieving the tree, running a replacement tree and retrieving the plugs.

Company preference is that the service provider is able to offer an integrated solution to supply a vessel, light well intervention subsea pressure control equipment and third party intervention services (slickline, electric line, pumping services etc.) as required. In some instances there may be compelling technical reasons for Company to use an existing third party supplier to provide a specific intervention service. In all cases the supplier of the vessel should also provide remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) services and provide project management to integrate the vessel, intervention equipment and third party services.

The light well intervention vessel will ideally be dynamic positioning Class 3 (DP3) but at a minimum DP2. The vessel shall be equipped with an active heave compensated crane capable of deploying the Company subsea trees to the respective water depth noted above. Vessel to have a system to safely deploy and recover the light well intervention system and associated umbilicals and hoses. In addition the vessel should have a system to suspend and compensate the slickline or electric line. Adequate deck space for the associated control umbilicals, hoses and bleed off lines should be provided. During interventions it may be necessary to bleed off significant volumes of gas to prove or test a downhole barrier, a system to manage hydrocarbons bled back to the vessel will be required. Continuous production of hydrocarbons from the reservoir is NOT in scope.
