⁠⁠⁠17002 - Maranoa Regional Council (Council) is seeking suitably skilled, qualified, and experienced NATA Registered service providers to undertake sampling, testing and reporting services, which may generally be described as soil testing, on the Fairview Road Upgrade Project. Council invites Tenderers to submit a schedule of rates pricing, day rates and supporting documentation for the supply of a full time mobile laboratory and material compliance testing services for the Fairview Road Upgrade Project.

Council will be undertaking the upgrade of Fairview Road to meet predicted traffic demands. Fairview Road is located approximately 30 kms North of Injune, intersecting the Carnarvon Highway with works occurring between chainages 2337m and 27769m.

The pavement works include a widening and overlay of the existing pavement with sections of full road reconstruction to an 8m pavement. Some works will include cement stabilised pavements and floodways. The drainage component comprises 20 drainage structures to be removed and replaced and 7 culvert extensions.

The Tendered package of work includes compliance testing for stockpiled materials, earthworks, pavement and drainage works. Provision of geotechnical engineering advice and certification in relation to construction activities may also be required on an as-needed basis. The scope of works will include the establishment, operation and management of a mobile NATA accredited laboratory with sufficient capacity to fulfil the requirements of this contract.

The Fairview Road upgrade project is estimated to commence in August 2016, with the tender applying for material compliance testing services from 11 August 2016. The construction phase is projected to span approximately 8 ½ calendar months. A project shutdown period, of up to four (4) weeks, is planned over the Christmas / New Year period. The actual construction work and associated services will occur over approximately a 7 ½ month period.
