Tender Description
You are invited to submit a lump sum tender to undertake civil works for the extension of Health Street and Third Avenue to connect to Innovation Drive at Southport.
It is a manadatory required that you hold a National Prequalification for Civil (Road and Bridge) construction with level R2 and F5.
Other manadatory requirement include the completd tender form and schedule of rates. Evaluation criteria are enclosed in the Brief document(downloadable from link below).
Note: Due to the number of files included in this tender release, a second release has been required including Schedule D to Schedule F - This is NOT an addendum.
Background
The Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct has been designed as an integrated and collaborative location for education, research, knowledge creation and the commercialisation of newly developed technologies.
Land has been provided as shown on the drawings for Site Compound and materials laydown associated with the
undertaking of the Contract Works.
Access must to be provided to the adjacent Queensland Health Car Park civil construction contractor until Mid-
September 2016. Access must to be provided from Innovation Drive, through the site to the car park site
providing access in the south eastern corner. The approximate location for the access is shown on the drawings.

TERM OF CONTRACT & SCOPE
This tender is for civil works for the extension of Health Street and Third Avenue to connection to Innovation Drive
Southport.
The tender scope includes:
- Site preparation
- Earthworks
- Roadworks
- Stormwater
- Retaining wall construction
- Water reticulation
- Sewer reticulation
- Electrical, lighting and telecommunications
- Landscaping
The roads will be largely greenfield except for the intersection works on Innovation Drive.
The Contractor’s construction program for this project, which will indicate in detail the manner and stages in which the works will be constructed will be established through the tender process. This is a Lump Sum Contract. Quantities and rates will need to be confirmed by the contractor in collaboration with EDQ prior to commencement of works.
Further to the provisions of Clause 4.2 of the General Conditions of Contract (AS2124-1992), the bill of quantities shall not form part of the Contract except that the priced bill shall form the basis for calculating the value of payment certificates and valuing variations ordered by the Superintendent.
Contractors are to make their own assessment of the quantities sufficient to provide a lump sum tender as per the
Tender documents. Variations for discrepancies in quantities will not be considered. To clarify, any items that are
not scheduled in the tender documents are deemed to be included in the Contract.
TIMEFRAME/PROGRAM
Anticipated start dates detailed below are to be confirmed in writing by EDQ at time of appointment. It is anticipated the tender will be awarded no later than early September 2016 with contractors to commence in September 2016.
The date for Practical completion will be based on the duration contained in the tender program submitted with the Offer.
