Tender Description
The scope of the assessment and review of Australia’s list of exposure standards will involve:
* Developing a methodology for the assessment and review of current exposure standards in consultation with Safe Work Australia staff
* Assessing the current 644 exposure standards using this methodology to develop a revised list
* Developing criteria for mandatory exposure standards based on risk and recommending a set of mandatory exposure standards using the criteria
* Considering whether an updated standard is required for each chemical in the revised list, and if so, recommending a new level for the standard
* Reporting on the key findings and recommendations, and
* Participating in stakeholder information/consultation sessions
Please note, a detailed toxicological and epidemiological evaluation of the scientific data for each chemical is outside the scope of this project.
