Tender Description

The Tasmanian Government seeks to establish a standing offer arrangement with one or more providers for the supply of fully-managed LANaaS.

This RFT is intended as the initial stage of the Government’s approach to procurement of LANaaS. The Government reserves the right to, but does not commit to, separately procure services to meet expanded future LANaaS requirements.

The Government seeks offers in three categories:
* Managed LANaaS - supply, installation and ongoing management of LAN infrastructure and Wi-Fi access points, initially to nominated Greenfield sites but potentially also in other locations, depending on demand. More than one panel member may be appointed with this capability, but the Government’s intention at this stage is that a site or campus identified by the Government as a Managed LANaaS site would be served by a single supplier (both LAN and Wi-Fi service components included). Where multiple Customers are located at such a site, TMD is likely to order the services on behalf of those Customers, with the Customers still likely to be billed directly by the Supplier.
* Wi-Fi Only (New and existing Wi-Fi access points) - supply, installation and ongoing management of new and existing Wi-Fi access points at any Government site that is not a Managed LANaaS site
* Management Only - optional, ongoing management and support of existing LAN infrastructure, where requested by an owner Agency. Management Only services are expected to be critical to Government, at least during the initial term, to support transition to the new model at brownfield sites.

Although all three service categories are required, individual Tenderers are not required to offer all of the categories to be eligible for appointment to the panel.

It is intended that any appointed Supplier may develop and offer new services in any category, or to meet emerging Government service requirements for LANaaS and associated services, during the term of any agreement(s).
