Waltzing Matilda Centre Interpretive Design and Delivery Consultant Services

WSC16-024 - Winton is located in Central Western Queensland on the Landsborough Highway, 178 kilometres north-west of Longreach, 472 kilometres south-east of Mount Isa and approximately 1,353 kilometres from Brisbane City; covering 53,935 square kilometres and boasting a population of around 1,600 people. The Waltzing Matilda Centre (the Centre) located in Winton Township is an iconic Queensland tourist attraction, and a vital part of the tourism infrastructure of the Winton region. The Centre was destroyed by fire on 18th June 2015.

Council is planning for reconstruction of the Centre (the Project). Council seeks that services of a suitably experienced and qualified Interpretive Design and Delivery Consultant (IDD Consultant) to fully develop the visitor experience for the Centre including curator services, design of exhibition, media, interactive’s, object display, graphics and other associated works for all interpretive areas in the Centre. 

The full design documentation and specificaton of the Centre's interpretative design will enable Council to procure specialist contractors in the market to respond competitively for the interpretive content construction, production, fabrication, delivery and installation services.

The IDD Consultant will be responsible for providing all resources, equipment and materials for delivery of the complete Interpretive Design and Delivery Services (IDD Services).
