Tender Description
Multi Threat Light Armour in an Integrated Light Armour Vest or Cover Light Armour Vest will provide protection for NSW Police Officers against threats and implement a second generation load bearing vest system.
The use of the Multi Threat Light Armour in the Integrated Light Armour Vest or Cover Light Armour Vest will aim to:
* Reduce and prevent belt attributed injuries;
* Improve protection from low velocity ballistic threats;
* Increase protection from edged blade and spike threats;
* Improve access to carried equipment;
* Reduce the number of clothing/vest layers worn (from 4 layers to 2 with the new armour shirt);
* Improve the comfort of officers wearing body armour by providing ‘smarter’ carriage systems; and
* Reduce ongoing costs by future proofing the design of the ILAV carrier.
