University Partnership Unlocking the Potential Over 55s.
Parramatta City Council (PCC or Council) is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced research partner with expertise in healthy ageing to undertake research and community engagement that will enable the development of Parramatta City Council's 'Unlocking the Potential of Over 55s Strategy'.
The Strategy will focus on the areas of:
* Healthy ageing through greater participation in sport, active and passive recreation
* Housing to support ageing in place and universal design of housing and public spaces
* Service provision
* Contribution to and participation in the local economy through the workforce, culture, entertainment and tourism options
* Contribution to social cohesion and community capacity through family support, childcare, volunteering and intergenerational mentoring
* Barriers to full participation including negative stereotyping
* Personal development and growth through informal and formal education and lifelong learning opportunities, as well as formal and informal opportunities to connect with others individually and collectively.
A whole of Council and community approach will underpin this work.
