Smith Street Upgrade - Urban Design Consultancy Knuckey St to Daly St - Stage 1

⁠⁠⁠Expressions of Interest are sought from suitable qualified parties (Registrants) to design and document (including tender documentation) the creation of an urban streetscape for the upgrading of Smith Street, between Knuckey Street and Daly Street, Darwin CBD.

The brief also requires that the design allow for staging so the construction can be implemented in staged portions. Stage 1 of the construction would commence in July 2016 with the balance of the works implemented thereafter.

Available funding sources will limit the ability for Council to redevelop the full length of the road reserve between Knuckey and Daly Streets; therefore staging options will need to be considered based on a current funding commitment of $1.3 million (GST exclusive) for Stage 1 of the project.

The complete full design and the construction of Stage 1 must allow for expansion of future stages, as funding permits, with a minimal impact on operations and to connect to the future Smith Street/Daly Street upgrade works (including on-road cycle lanes).

The fee offer provided should allow for the Registrants representative to be involved with any tender assessment and recommendations for construction control award.
