Tender Description

Design and Construction - Gross Pollutant Trap at the junction of McIntosh Street and Arthur Street, Gordon NSW 2072.

Ku-ring-gai Council is seeking to protect bushland areas and receiving waters in and around the LGA by capturing stormwater pollutants before they reach the receiving environment.

Currently the areas of Gordon town centre that drains to the east does not have any pollution control devices in place, and water discharges into a tributary to Rocky Creek untreated. The main piped drainage system draining Gordon town centre discharges into an open channel at the intersection McIntosh Street and Arthur Street, Gordon NSW 2072. There is also a local bushcare group active in Terrumbine Reserve and the nearby bushland area, just downstream from the discharge point.

The resident bushcare groups have voiced concerns in respect of the amount of litter being washed into the bushland area together with the stormwater from the Gordon town centre.

The proposed location for a stormwater treatment device (being a gross pollutant trap, GPT) is at the intersection McIntosh Street and Arthur Street, as this would allow treatment of runoff from the largest catchment possible. In order to complete the aforementioned works Council invites tenders from companies with previous experience of design and construction of GPTs or similar devices

The tender objective is to engage a Contractor to Design and Construct a Gross Pollutant Trap at the intersection of McIntosh Street and Arthur Street Gordon which is within the guidelines and conditions set within the tender document.
